Sheesh !

Why Are PoliticianS Always
Asking For Money?

💸 Because Citizens United broke the system.

In 2010, the United States Supreme Court ruled in its Citizens United opinion that limiting campaign spending was the same as limiting speech. Equating money with speech means those with more money have more speech, giving corporations and wealthy donors a louder voice in politics than everyday people. Since then, candidates at every level have been forced to spend more time fundraising than governing to stay competitive.

😬 And you’re right — it’s gross.

The constant texts and emails from candidates are too much. Imagine if that same energy were directed toward building better policy for people instead. However, the truth is that small campaigns can’t compete against big money without grassroots support. When people like you pitch in, it shifts power back toward real voters,
rather than corporate interests.

⚖️ Fix campaign finance, and we fix a lot more.

People’s eyes tend to glaze over when they hear “campaign finance reform,” but it’s one of the most critical reforms we can make. When we remove money from politics, elected officials can get back to doing the job voters sent them to do. That means more transparency, more accountability, and a democracy that works for everyone —
not just the wealthy few.

Let’s CHANGE how campaigns are funded:
ELECT LEADERS WHO PLEDGE TO
FIX CITIZENS UNITED.
